A recent survey conducted by Towers Watson which measured the likelihood of employers continuing to offer a sponsored health plan brought about some interesting results. After polling 368 midsize companies, some of the eye-opening statistics included:
- 29% are unsure if they will continue sponsorship of a health care plan
- 45% will rethink their health care strategy in 2012
- 54% will discontinue benefits to both pre-65 and post-65 retirees
What does all this mean to agents? One, the pool of prospects shopping for an individual health plan will exponentially increase. But more importantly, the quality of the prospects will improve. These employees didn’t lose their jobs, they just lost their employer sponsored health plan.
The bottom line is More People Looking For Agents’ Help in Finding the Right Plan.
